Utah State Spring Semester

So this semester I moved halls, because the last one was horrible, to say the least. This semester, I have made some of THE best friends, to say the least. These girls are so fun and welcoming, it's unreal. Our ward is great, and everyone in Davis Hall is so fun. Classes are good this semester, just pretty difficult, but i'll get through with flying colors :) My birthday was Friday, so we went out to dinner, then an institute dance and then hung out with some friends. Such a fun night! Then last night we hit up some Aggie Basketball! 2nd game of the week, and of course we won both! Played New Mexico State, so it was pretty funny playing some other Aggies.

Today, however was especially great. Church was great this morning, and our good friend Jason is the new Gospel Doctrine teacher, so we were all excited and supportive of him as well. Since 9 o'clock church is killer when you get to bed just a few hours before, we all came home and slipped into a small coma. 4 hours we woke up and made some great dinners. Tonight we went to the Tabernacle for an Institute Choir fireside. It was one of the most amazing meetings I've been able to be in. Our friend Coleman from across the hall was singing in it so we all decided to go support. The title of the fireside was "Lord of the Small." Two mothers spoke about their experiences with their children who have lived such difficult lives. It was truly inspiring. The part of the fireside that really hit me was the song "Lord of the Small." The lyrics are amazing.

Praise to the Lord of the small, broken things,
Who sees the poor sparrow that cannot take wing,
Who loves the lame child, and the wretch in the street,
Who comforts their sorrows and washes their feet.

Praise to the Lord of the faint and afraid,
Who girds them with courage and lends them His aid;
He pours out His Spirit on vessels so weak
That the timid can serve and and the silent can speak.

Praise the Lord of the frail and the ill,
Who heals their afflictions, or carries them till,
They leave frame and to paradise fly,
To never be sick, never to die.

Praise Him, O praise Him, all ye who yet live,
Who've been given so much and can so little give,
Our frail, lisping praise God will never despise:
He sees His dear children through mercy filled eyes.

I love this song, and I LOVE life. :)

Sweet Summertime

Cousins/Bestest friends at Rachel & Ricky's wedding
Mamasita and I on the 4th of July
Camping on Syd's Birthday
Sparklers with Liam
My mommy :)

So between Rachel & Ricky's wedding, alll the cousins being together for the first time in years, the 4th of July, Liam coming to visit, work, and sunshine, this summer has been great. It is so crazy to think that it is all ending in just a few weeks! These past few months have been ones of great change and a chance for me to decide who I want to be and who I really want to associate myself with. This summer i've spent a lot of time with very close friends and family who do nothing but support, uplift, and love. I've realized it's much better to have a few true and close friends and spend time with family, as opposed to having tons of friends who aren't making me want to be a better person. I guess we all have to realize this and grow up eventually! well maybe not the growing up part quite yet ;) Still have a few weeks to enjoy the rest of summer before heading off to UTAH for good. Plans for the rest of summer: Swim, Six Flags with the little brothers, family bbqs, adventures with Sydney Paige, UTAH this weekend, and hang out with the fam bam :) Man, i loove summer.

Party In Paradise

WOW! So this week has been a great one..tuesday, Stefanie and I went to Universal Studios-Islands of Adventure. A fun amusement park full of Incredible Hulk, Harry Potter, and Spiderman rides..and muchh more. Then Wednesday night I went up to Orlando with Brian and his girlfriend Jessica to dinner and a fun comedy club. Thursday Stef and I left for the Keys for the weekend! We had wayy too much fun. Ha We stayed in Key Largo at a cute hotel right on the harbor. Then friday went down to Key West for the day to shop along Duval Street. Basically just a super long street of every type of little shop you could possibly imagine. It was a good time and a shopper's paradise. Then Saturday we went back down to Key West to Smather's Beach and went parasailing, sailing, paddleboarding, played on the beach, etc. I absolutely LOVE how warm the water is here!! We ran into some people that Stef went to high school with, which was also pretty funny! That night we went to dinner on Duval Street at Cheeseburger Key West..no joke..that's exactly what they had. It was soo delicious. We then walked around the corner to Mallory Square to watch the street performers and watch the sunset which was soo pretty. Apparently everyone and their mom had the same idea for a saturday night because it was wayy packed on the Square. And it never cooled off like we expected it to when the sun went down, so it was pretty interesting. One thing I could neverr get used to here is the humidity..it's a little much for me. So after watching the sunset all these little places along Duval Street had live bands playing all night, so we went from place to place listening to all the types of music (and all the types of people playing) . It was pretty funny at times, and all together sooo much fun! Then Sunday we made our way up to see Aunt Jeanie and Uncle Jerry which was a ton of fun as well! We went to the beach for a little while with Jeanie, and that night the 4 of us went to dinner at a fun Italian place. All together, a GREAT week :)

The Sunshine State

FINALLY in Florida!! After an insane (to say the least) week in Fail Grove, I finally hopped on a plane and headed to the arms of my big sister! With a bbq today, and Universal Studios tomorrow, I have a good feeling this is going to be a great week. Graduation, and exciting adventures behind me, and a great couple of days in the sun ahead..life is turning out pretty great right now. Pretty sure the beach, humid weather, and big sister are just what I needed after quite the eventful week I just had!
